Obesity Resource Centre

The Nursing in Practice Obesity Resource Centre aims to provide you with the latest updates in obesity to assist you with the management of overweight patients and related health concerns, including nutrition, diabetes and heart disease.

The 2007 Foresight report, Tackling Obesities: Future Choices, predicted that if no action is taken, 60% of men, 50% of women and 25% of children will be obese by 2050. Obesity is a priority for the UK government and the white paper, Healthy Lives, Healthy People: Our Strategy for Public Health in England set out plans to improve public health and fight the causes of premature death and illness, including obesity.
