Module Summary

Lockdown increased incidents of domestic abuse and reduced the opportunities for clinicians to uncover it. Dr Vasumathy Sivarajasingam explains how to spot the signs and offer help.

Learning Objectives

This module will help you:

  • understand what stage victims are at and whether they are ready to disclose domestic abuse.
  • be hypervigilant of any signs of abuse, whether to an adult or a child.
  • know how it is best to speak to a patient, including checking they are alone when you speak to them or whether they need an interpreter.
