Nursing in Practice Podcast: An update for GPNs on immunisation changes

News and features writer Madeleine Anderson speaks with Dr Julie Yates, deputy director for immunisation programmes at the UK Health Security Agency, about the expansion of the RSV vaccination programme to include more older adults.

Drawing on her background in nursing and health visiting, Dr Yates discusses the impact the wider roll-out is expected to have on protecting vulnerable groups and how practices can best prepare for the change.

The episode also features an interview with Debbie Duncan, senior lecturer in community nursing and respiratory health specialist, who discusses the MMRV vaccine, which has been introduced into the routine childhood immunisation schedule since January.

This fourth episode follows the December edition of the podcast which focused on the move to include questions about the menopause in health checks and advice on delivering more inclusive care.

The latest episode comes as Nursing in Practice is set to host its first virtual event of the year on Wednesday 11 February, focused on respiratory and chronic conditions.
