The Nursing in Practice Podcast: Adding menopause to health checks and improving inclusivity in care
The third episode of the Nursing in Practice Podcast is live and available to listen to on Spotify and Apple Music.
The latest episode of the Nursing in Practice Podcast hosts a conversation exploring the planned introduction of menopause questions into routine health checks and takes a deeper look at how nurses can provide more inclusive practice across the UK.
Listen to the third episode below.
Acting editor Megan Ford and news and features writer Madeleine Anderson open the episode by interviewing Ruth Bailey, an advanced nurse practitioner specialising in sexual health in primary care.
Together, they unpack the difference that menopause questions could bring to patients and explore how general practice nurses (GPNs) workloads will be impacted by the change.
Madeleine and Megan also reflect on a powerful keynote speech delivered by the Royal College of Nursing’s (RCN) North West regional director at a recent Nursing in Practice event in Liverpool, focusing on the role of primary care and community nurses in tackling healthcare inequities.
As part of the episode, nurses are also invited to take part in our How Nurses Count campaign, to highlight the impact and expertise that nurses bring to general practice.
The Nursing in Practice Podcast is hosted on Buzzsprout and can be accessed via Spotify and Apple Music.
