Nurses shortlisted for general practice awards

Nurses and their teams are among those shortlisted for Cogora’s annual General Practice Awards, after a record-breaking number of entries.

Six nursing teams and one nurse has been announced among the finalists within the nurse/nursing team of the year category.

The awards are a joint collaboration between Nursing in Practice and its sister brands Pulse, The Pharmacist, Healthcare Leader, Pulse PCN, Management in Practice and others.

The awards recognise outstanding multidisciplinary teams, nurses, general practitioners and those who have made special contributions to clinical improvement in mental health and long term conditions.

Those shortlisted for the nurse/nursing team of the year award this year are:

  • Birley Health Centre – Nursing and Health Care Team/Superheroes
  • Darwen Healthcare Nursing Team
  • Gateshead Inner West PCN Frailty Service
  • Healthy Hyde Complex Case Nurses
  • Primary Care Sheffield Darnall Nursing Team
  • The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s PCN Nursing Team
  • Tracey Elliott – Clinical lead, Swift PCN New Way Leg Care.

Several other teams have also been shortlisted for the operation and delivery of vaccination services throughout the year:

  • Birkenhead Vaccination Centre (Merseyside)
  • Healthy Hyde PCN
  • Torbay General Practice Covid Vaccination Service
  • The University Health Service
  • Woodgrange Covax.

Winners in each category will be announced during an award ceremony at Novotel London West on 8 December.

Separately, votes remain open for the Supplier Awards. Healthcare professionals are invited to vote from a shortlist for their favourite supplier of digital solutions, medicine, recruitment or staffing services, education, telecoms, or professional services.
