Nursing in Practice live event returns to south coast

Nursing in Practice is getting ready to meet readers at its conference in Southampton in May that will offer the latest professional and clinical content and a wide range of expert speakers.

General practice nurses, community nurses, health visitors, school nurses, care home nurses and other qualified nurses working in primary care or community settings can now book tickets for the nursing event being held on Thursday 23 May 2024.

The conference will be held at the attractive Leonardo Grand Harbour hotel found on Southampton’s waterfront, in a return to the south coast for our live events.

Confirmed speakers include Kathleen Gillespie, Professor of molecular medicine, University of Bristol; Faye Osmond, senior nurse/team leader, Solent NHS trust; Leah Pike, community learning disability nurse, Jigsaw, and Verlyn Jugar Ganir, registered nurse and health coach, with even more of the programme to be announced in the coming weeks.

The wide range of useful sessions on the agenda at Southampton in May includes topics such as:

  • Atopic dermatitis in primary care
  • Learning disabilities in practice
  • Supporting transgender patients
  • Palliative care – supporting living and dying well
  • Paediatric and adolescent mental health
  • Pre-menopause – what do we know?
  • Type 1 diabetes risk in adults (T1DRA)

The programme will be chaired by Nursing in Practice advisory board members Marilyn Eveleigh and Helen Lewis, who will encourage discussion on key points and take your questions.

Carolyn Scott, Nursing in Practice’s editor commented: ‘Do come along to a thought-provoking nursing event and join the Nursing in Practice team for a great day to invest in your professional development. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible to discuss these important topics.’

Nurses are advised to book now for their free ticket while places are available, for access to all conference sessions, CPD for your revalidation portfolio, free refreshments and lunch, networking time and access to an industry exhibition. Tickets for the conference are free of charge for all fully qualified primary care and community nurses based in the UK.
