The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) has appointed a new deputy chief executive to help lead the organisation.

The deputy role was previously held by the charity’s now chief executive, Steph Lawrence.

Dr Wood, who is a Queen’s Nurse, led the launch of the ‘Leading Strategically’ programme for senior community nurse leaders, and the ‘Ambition to Lead’ programme for nurses who are at an earlier stage in their career.

Before this, she worked across various nurse settings, including in district nursing, advanced practice, public health and secondary care.

She will retain her role as director of nursing programmes (leadership) alongside being the charity’s deputy chief executive.
