In general practice and communities across the country, practice nurses and community nurses are getting involved — dealing with growing workloads, staff shortages and complex patient needs with professionalism, resilience and care.

Primary care relies heavily on the work of nursing teams, yet their vital work is too often overlooked.

The Nursing Award at the General Practice Awards 2025 represents a chance for judges to acknowledge the individual nurses and nursing teams in general practice and community who demonstrate exemplary practice, whose work impacts patient outcomes, and reduces health inequalities and innovations amidst a sea of challenges.

We encourage you to enter, while applications are still open.

The winners of the award in 2024, Brownlow Health Central in Liverpool, were rewarded for their development of specialist nursing and commitment to delivering nursing to vulnerable and complex patient populations.

Entry is open for the 2025 General Practice Awards, supported by Nursing in Practice, but is closing soon.
