Contraceptive Awareness Week to focus on men

Contraceptive Awareness Week to focus on men

The Family Planning Association (FPA) has created a free set of guidelines that seek to encourage more men to visit contraceptive services.

The FPA are concentrating on getting men involved as part of this year’s Contraceptive Awareness Week.

The “New Man” campaign will run from 11 to 17 February, hoping to encourage men to think about contraception and get more involved in contraception choices.

The briefing offers information on creating a variety of confidential services.

It also suggests that clinics should make it clear that support and advice, not just tests and treatments, are available from the services.

The FPA believe that materials should be provided just for men and publicity should be aimed just at this market.

The FPA guidelines can be downloaded from their website.
