Southampton nurse awarded bursary to support infant skincare training

Southampton nurse awarded bursary to support infant skincare training

Helen Hart (pictured) from Southampton was selected to receive a bursary as part of a national programme for healthcare professionals, supported by Fairy Non Bio, Fairy Fabric Softener and Nursing in Practice.

The bursary offers £600 to contribute towards their education and training in the area of infant skin care. Practice nurse Helen Hart applied for the bursary via the Nursing in Practice CPD Zone to help fund a dermatology course. The course will enable her to strengthen her expertise in skincare and to treat patients in her local community with skin conditions.

Helen said, "I am delighted to have been selected and thankful for this opportunity to further my education with the support of the bursary. It will enable me to extend my skills as a practice nurse by specialising in skincare treatment. I feel there is a definite need for more specialist skincare training as it would enable treatments to be initiated within primary care and away from the hospital arena."

Nursing in Practice and CPD Zone
Fairy Non Bio and Fairy Fabric Softener are continually committed to caring for little ones' delicate skin. This is why they are supporting the Nursing in Practice CPD Zone programme in the area of infant skincare, offering further education in most common skincare conditions in the neonate, general care for healthy skin in infancy and managing skincare for premature babies.

Polly Moffat, Nursing in Practice's Editor, said, "It is difficult for healthcare professionals to advance their careers and training due to the lack of available funding. This is why Nursing in Practice is delighted to be partnering with Fairy Non Bio and Fairy Fabric Softener by offering professionals across the UK much-needed financial support during these difficult times. This will not only assist them to enhance their skills but will benefit their local communities as well."
