Nursing in Practice upcoming live event on course to be roaring success

Nursing in Practice‘s first face-to-face event since the Covid-19 pandemic started in the UK early last year has received a huge response, Cogora’s events team has reported.

With just over a month to go, registrations – which opened two months ago – to attend the conference at the Novotel London West hotel in Hammersmith, London, on 31 September are almost to full capacity.

Interest is also building for the two following Nursing in Practice events – in Liverpool on 5 October and Birmingham on 11 November.

Alejandra Campos, Cogora events director, said: ‘We are very pleased with the positive response from our community of primary care nurses. After over a year delivering CPD certified content via our virtual events, the return to our face-to-face events gives them a very much missed chance to learn and catch up with their peers.’

The format of the event will allow delegates to be able to ‘tailor the day according to their learning needs, giving them access to the latest clinical updates, practical skills and industry expert advice, and helping them to meet their annual CPD requirements,’ Ms Campos added.  ‘They also have the opportunity to network and find out about the latest solutions to help improve their practice.’

The topics covered in the four ‘streamed’ sessions will include type 2 diabetes management, cardiovascular disease in women and children’s health. Nursing in Practice’s nursing adviser Marilyn Eveleigh will be chairing one stream of the sessions, while editor of Nursing in Practice‘s sister title Pulse, Jaimie Kaffash, GP Dr Joe Milligan and Unite’s Dave Munday will take charge of the other three.  Other highlights include Dr Toni Hazell, a GP and regular contributor to Nursing in Practice, speaking on primary care management of HIV, and Ian Webzell, alcohol and substance misuse clinical nurse specialist, on alcohol use disorders.

These series of 2021 conference will be for the first-time run-in conjunction with Pulse LIVE.
