Lucy Letby documentary to launch on Netflix
A new documentary examining the case of former neonatal nurse and convicted baby killer Lucy Letby is to launch on Netflix next month.
The film by ITN Productions – The Investigation of Lucy Letby – will go live on Wednesday 4 February and is set to feature unseen footage of Letby during her arrests and police questioning.

The documentary includes an anonymised interview with a mother of one of the victims who speaks for the first time about her experience and involvement in Letby’s trial, as well as interviews with the hospital consultants who initially raised the alarm and with the police who investigated the case. It also features lawyers and medical experts who have questioned the evidence.
Letby is currently serving 15 whole-life prison terms for the murder of seven babies and the attempted murder of seven others at the Countess of Chester Hospital neonatal unit where she worked between 2015 and 2016.
This week it was confirmed that Letby will not face criminal charges for further allegations over baby deaths and non-fatal collapses, following a review by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Those behind the new documentary say it has been produced as a result of ‘years of research and relationship-building’ and that the group of contributors makes it the ‘most comprehensive look at one of Britain’s most notorious crimes’.
A trailer for the film shows Letby being sat in bed as she is told by police that she is being arrested for murder and attempted murder.

It also includes footage of her during police interviews in which she tells them ‘I love my job’ and ‘it was all just spiralling out of control’.
Lady Justice Thirlwall’s inquiry report into the events at the Countess of Chester Hospital and their implications following the trial is due to be published this Easter.
