Nurses invited to help shape future of neighbourhood working at new free event

Nurses working across primary care are invited to attend a new free event where they can bring the nursing voice into discussions around shaping the future of neighbourhood health services.

Launched by Nursing in Practice’s publisher Cogora – in partnership with Nursing in Practice and the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing – the Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference will bring together more than 1,000 primary care professionals to explore how closer collaboration can support patient care as services continue to shift into the community.

Taking place on 21–22 June 2026 at the National Conference Centre (NCC), Birmingham, the event will welcome nurses alongside GPs, community pharmacists, practice managers, PCN teams and system leaders, with a strong focus on ensuring nursing perspectives are part of conversations about neighbourhood working and future NHS delivery.

Nurses attending the conference will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to discussions shaping neighbourhood health services and the evolving role of nursing
  • Bring the nursing voice to the table in conversations about collaboration across primary care
  • Explore how to work more effectively with community pharmacy and general practice colleagues
  • Highlight the value of nursing roles within multidisciplinary neighbourhood teams

The free-to-attend event, carried out also in partnership with the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), offers 10 CPD points and will feature more than 80 speakers, eight conference streams, 40+ sessions and 70+ exhibitors across two days.

With the government’s 10-year health plan placing renewed emphasis on moving care out of hospitals and into community-based settings, the importance of multidisciplinary working across nursing, pharmacy and general practice continues to grow.

The Community Pharmacy and General Practice Conference will examine how primary care professionals can work together to improve access, strengthen collaboration and ensure nursing expertise is embedded within future neighbourhood health models.
